Carnage

There is a point

When it isn’t about what is wrong and what is right,

When it isn’t about what happened and what still might,

When people fought and fought solely for the fight,

When people began to waver and lost, lost sight.

Others come in and take because they can,

Losing hold of every law, hold of every ban.

When madness consumes and chaos is in store,

Who can say stop, stop to this war?

This is no point.

  1. At least one side in every war makes no sense. The greed, the pride, the arrogance was not worth the price that was paid in men’s lives. On the other side, it is often one of defense against such things and the loss, though tragic, cannot be helped. Your poem expressed the futility of such things well.
