In this World

Mother Rabbit needed food

And into farmer’s land pursued,

Man was cold towards Mother’s dream

and Man’s quick shots made Mother scream.

Unable to leave her kit unfed,

She opted for Plan B instead.

At the break of dusk she charged on in,

Another crime to her spring of sin.

Mother Rabbit returned to find

A surprise of the cruelest kind.

Baby Rabbit nowhere to be seen,

A trail of tracks where a fox had been.

Like Mother Rabbit, a man out there

Has tried his best to make things fair

Like Mother Rabbit, success was found

But only when all else had drowned.

Pressed to the limits and pushed to the floor,

In this world, dreams will never soar.
